The Military Academy Saldanha is seeking a talented and dedicated Food Service Aid II to join their esteemed team at the Training Command. This is a valuable opportunity for an individual with a passion for food preparation and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

DEPARTMENT OF DEFENCE: As the Food Service Aid II, you will be responsible for assisting in the receipt, storage, and distribution of all provisions and stock within the food service unit. Your duties will involve the preparation and production of a wide range of normal and therapeutic diets, ensuring that each meal is meticulously prepared and presented to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of Grade 2-9 or ABET Level 1-4/ Standard 2 – 7 education, along with a strong foundation in basic literacy, numerical skills, and knowledge of hygiene practices. You must demonstrate the ability to read recipes and prepare food accordingly, as well as the capacity to operate heavy-duty cleaning equipment and handle cooking equipment with ease.

In addition to your technical skills, you must be willing to work shifts and overtime, including weekends and public holidays, to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Combined Club. A thorough understanding of occupational health and safety principles is also essential, as you will be required to follow and adhere to all relevant prescripts and standard operating procedures.
