The Department of Small Business Development is seeking two highly motivated and skilled individuals to fill the position of Food Service Aid at its Pretoria office. REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidates must possess a National Qualifications Framework (NQF) level 1 or 2 qualification, which is equivalent to an ABET level 2 certificate or its equivalent. Additionally, the candidates must demonstrate the following skills and competencies:
- Ability to read and write proficiently
- Basic knowledge of food preparation
- Understanding of basic hygiene principles
- Proficiency in operating food service equipment
- Excellent interpersonal skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Food Service Aid
The Food Service Aid will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:

- Office admin clerk (GRADE 12 -Entry level)
- Learnerships and Internships (Grade 9 and higher)
- General worker (Grade 10 and higher)
- All Jobs (Mixed job category all jobs)
- Cleaning and maintaining the stock of kitchen utensils and equipment
- Providing catering support services, such as preparing food, snacks, and beverages (including water, hot, and cold beverages)
- Confirming and updating boardroom bookings
- Serving food and beverages to clients and staff
- Monitoring and reporting on food supplies, waste, and losses
- Ensuring the maintenance of quality control measures for all food provided
- Applying proper hygiene and safety measures
- Managing cleaning materials and supplies
- Responsible for the removal and disposal of garbage
